Are Your Eyes Drying Up?

eyes-drying-up-fatsThere are good fats... there are bad fats... and there are low-fat products... it's one of the worst inventions of the food industry! Because they take the fat out and put a lot of sugar in to make up for the cardboard taste... and your health is suffering... Your body needs fats! Good fats, not the hydrogenated stuff in the deep friers in fast food restaurants. I mean high-quality fat. Without it, your body is not working properly. Without fats, your eyes will dry up. And good fat doesn't make you fat... sugar does, bad fats do, and toxicity does... but good fats help you to lose weight! For example, you'll have a hard time getting overweight and obese by eating avocados. They are high in fat, but high in good fats. In fact, you must eat good fats, if you want to lose weight. Because the toxic fat from your fat cells needs good fat to move out of the body... The most important aspect for your eyes is your tears. Your tears are made up of water, oil, and mucus. So, if you are lacking good fats in your diet, your eyes will become dry and itchy. Combine that with staring at screens for most of the day and you have a real problem. Your eyes get dry and itchy. And eye drops would be the worst solution... Because they stop your eyes from making high-quality tears altogether... So, if you suffer a lot from dry eyes during the day, buy a bottle of good organic olive oil and put one or two tablespoons extra on every meal... Or add an avocado to your lunch... or snack on a handful of macadamia nuts twice a day! Just don't overdo the nuts... they are so good, they can become addictive... (ask me how I know...) Fats are an important part of your body's makeup. Your body is designed to burn fat. Sugar is only around since the mid-1800's. We are actually designed to burn fat as our fuel, not sugar. Sugar is just really profitable for the food industry. So, just turn it around... get rid of unhealthy (often hidden) sugars in your life, and add more high-quality fats. Your body and eyes will thank you for it! Do you get enough fats in your diet? Or are you falling for the low-fat craze? Let me know in a comment below...
